AA Badenhorst Family Wines – On a Sunday morning, about once a month when the mood grabs Adi, he hosts a casual wine tasting and cellar tour followed by breakfast on his farm Kalmoesfontein in the Swartland. Just outside Wellington on the Malmsbury road, this is a home that has benefitted from an abundance of love and careful renovation since Adi and Cornelia bought it in 2008.

Today it is not only the base from which quality wines are produced with a healthy blend of passion and cavalier care, but it also serves as a venue for events hosted by Cornelia and her company De Liefde.

There were about ten of us in the group that indulged in the Swartland hospitality at its relaxed best. The meal was deliciously prepared in the farm kitchen with eggs from their very own happy chickens.

If Bacchus shines upon you, try and make it to the next one. And when you do, make sure to taste the Bubbly. It made very happy. As did a morning in Adi’s inspired company.

Note: Top rather incredible pic is taken from Adi’s website.
