Listings, Awards and Mentions

This is my happy place where I share discoveries, journeys, photographs, anecdotes and tales of the beauty that I happen upon. Thank you for visiting. Here are some additional mentions of my work, writing awards and blogger listings that I much appreciate.

A big thank you to gorgeous Kate Els of the beautifully written and inspiring IndiKate blog who listed me as one of the Five Best South African Travel Bloggers. Much appreciate the shout out and am honoured to be included in such fine company. Read more about her recommendations here.

From the early days yet a firm favourite. A feature on 36 boutique.

Just when I thought I couldn’t have more love for TravelstartSA and their ongoing support of The Incidental Tourist – they’ve now included me on their list of 100 Great SA Travel Twitter Feeds. Much appreciate!

In August 2013 I entered a competition with Travelstart South Africa, where travel bloggers were invited to submit a piece that evoked a memorable travel experience. I wrote about how my time in Benin had been real, raw and life enhancing. And I won! My prize is two Airlink flights and I selected to travel to Madagascar from 11-16 September. As well as to Nelspruit to catch up with the Trec1000 crew in the Kruger National Park’s Manyeleti, from 11-14 October.

Travelstart compiled a list of their 50 Underrated Travel Blogs and The Incidental Tourist made the list. Delighted to be included. May the wonderlust forever grip me.

Becoming you is an inspiring blog by gorgeous Kathryn who provides constant reminders of the things that matter in this world of self-discovery. She does blogger interviews and this week has included me. The theme is What I, and my answers can be seen here.

It was an honour to be listed by VOLO as one of their Top 10 Travel Bloggers in South Africa. Some lovely people I rub backpack flavored shoulders with.

Momtrepenuer put together a blog post on the Top 20 Female Bloggers in South Africa and included me.

Similarly Xcellent Media listed me among their Top 10 Female Bloggers in South Africa.

I even got to tell Brian Berkman about the 10 Things I Love About Being the Incidental Tourist for Biz Community. Which was truly a fun thing to do. Gosh, it made me realize how many adventures I have been on. Loved doing this interview!

More recently I joined the list of Contributors for Thrive Magazine as their Food Photographer. This is an invaluable production and its in an honour to be a part of the team.

Thanks for reading and for keeping me inspired to share my adventures, near or far, with you. What a truly remarkable world we live in!
