The 1000 Drawings comprises of A5 doodles, scribbles, graffiti, sketches, watercolour, oil paintings, experimental and conceptual works, all created at various doodle sessions over a period of 11 months. On the night of the exhibition these 6000 plus pieces are displayed for sale at R100.00 each.
All proceeds are going to the Thomas Wildschutt School in Retreat, where the organisers are implementing a creative project to brighten up the lives of over 450 young South Africans. They will be working with GreenPop, See-Saw-Do and HELP : Homework – Enrichment – Lifeskills – Programme to do so.
The night smacks of inspired feel good and raw talent. You will love walking around, meeting the artists and choosing the pieces of your choice. Personally I have accumulated a collection and have it framed and hanging on my walls at home. Best value art I’ve been lucky enough to acquire.
Where: Good Hope Centre. When: from 5pm till midnight. Cost: R100 entrance fee which also gets you a doodle. Tickets available here. More info on their Facebook page and a tease of doodle delight below.
Enjoy for me too!
