Cascade Country Manor For Primitiv Vodka And Yum Sushi!

Last night Cascade Country Manor outside Paarl hosted a fabulous Vodka and Sushi evening where Chef Dane Newton provided a myriad of taste sensations which were paired with Jorgensen’s Distillery’s Primitiv Vodka.

This was my first visit to Cascade Country Manor despite the fact that I live 20 minutes away (#shameonme), and I was astounded by the location. Set against the mountains outside Paarl with their very own river, fountain and lavish green lawns, the setting is truly breathtaking.

Well established as a Guest House with spacious luxurious rooms and bathrooms, they also have a wonderful reputation as a Wedding Venue. Cascade Manor is well know for the Olive Oil that owner Volker Goetze produces. He is also a charcutier of note, and they plan to expand the range to a Deli in Paarl.

The charming and super competent Maike Volker adds flair to all that she touches, and even though the level of luxury and service appears to be much more five star than their official four star rating, the relaxed atmosphere leaves me feeling I would be welcome to happily skip barefoot down the stairs to the pool in summer …

Fabulous Chef Dane Newton has recenlty joined the team and his food surpasses expectations. Probably best sushi I have had in my beloved SA, ingredients so fresh and wasabi ‘kick-ass’ scary. The Vodka Mojito with lemon sorbet and mint foam was so yum, and the tofu cheesecake had me scraping my plate.

Bunnies roam the garden – lots of little baby ones with big ears and pink noses ….

If you’re looking for somewhere fabulous for a Winelands getaway, this is a place that will surprise, impress and delight every one of your senses. See www.cascademanor.co.za
