FIFA World Cup Opening – Sites and Sounds!

Friday 11 June 2010 saw the much anticipated FIFA World Cup kick-off. In Cape Town crowds took to the streets with excitement, warmth and support for South Africa and our team Bafana Bafana. I was on the streets, breathing in the atmosphere, beaming with pride, team t-shirt and South African flag flying high, and captured these images which I’d like to share.

Crowds heading the the Parade Ground Fan Park.

My favourite – this guy was a treat – smiles and style – soccer ball on head!

A giant Makarapa on a bakkie driving past.

This hat says it all.

My flag – so proudly South African!!!
