Greenpop. – Trees your thing? Fancy some green voluntourism and dreaming of joining the Greenpop team for Trees for Zambia this year, yet unsure how to get there?

Well, here we have it.

Reliance Compost is holding a really cool competition and the prize is a free week all inclusive, even transport to Zambia from Joburg or Cape Town, to attend Greenpop’s Trees for Zambia Festival of Action. All you have to do is pick up a Reliance bag and make something cool and creative with it. Then tweet your pic to @Organicreliance or post it on Facebook and tag @Reliance Compost Easy!

Closing date is 11 April 2014 at 12 noon.

If you don’t know about Greenpop’s Trees for Zambia, its a reforestation and eco-awareness project which began with a 3-week tree planting event and was followed by an ongoing campaign to inspire awareness about deforestation, climate change, tree planting, environmental sustainability and alternative energy sources. Each year now, the ongoing project is boosted with a Festival of Action in June/July where thousands of trees are planted by passionate people from all over the world. Environmental workshops are hosted with school children, farmers and volunteers and many lessons are learned and shared. Trees for Zambia is a holistic awareness campaign based on getting people active about making sustainable changes.

The 2014 dates are week 1, 2 and 3 between 15 June and 7 July 2014. I’m much hoping to be there for the last week. If you’d like to learn more, contact Will McAnery at zambia@greenpop.org
