KwaZulu Natal’s Sibusiso The Plane Maker Flies!

We’re pretty spoilt down here in the Mother City where we have more than most hearts desire. Sometimes we need a reminder to look beyond our Mountain and our Winelands to the inspiration that is elsewhere in this beautiful country of ours. For example near Zwelitsha village in Kwazulu Natal.

Here Sibusiso Mbhele decided that he could fly and built his home from a collection of corrugated iron sheets which he decorated to take on the shape of a plane, this after seeing a plane fly over the mountain as a young boy. Every day he works on building his planes and every evening he pulls up the stairs to his home where he sleeps and lives his dream.

From here Sibusiso imagines that he can fly and after visiting with him, I do believe that his heart rises and soars above the mountains with the eagles. I’m right behind you Sibusiso, inspired, smiling …
