Tonight, and on at least two or three nights a month, I treat myself to a night at the Movies. Usually with my man, often with special friends … always the focus on the leading men and women of the silver screen. I always say that I “collect movies”, and by that I don’t mean that I have an assortment of dvd’s in my TV room, I don’t, but rather that I collect them in my heart and mind, as experiences and adventures that I escape to … and I keep a journal of those I’ve seen.
Tonight is one of those treat nights, tonight’s movie Nick Hornby’s An Education (www.aneducationfilm.com). Best part of all is that as a resident in the Cape Winelands, I have the option of watching tongiht’s movie at very special Screening Room at Le Quartier Francais, which is a fabulous boutique hotel in Franschhoek in the Cape’s Winelands. This 30 seater intimate cinema with soft comfy leather chairs and back row couches, truly does enhance the experience. It gets better though, instead of popcorn and a cola puppy, at The Screening Room its a glass of good wine and yummy cheese balls. Very civilised. Can’t wait!
The pool area at Le Quartier Francais www.lqf.co.za – a fabulous spot!
