Uthando South Africa is a non-profit organisation and unique Responsible Tourism Initiative based in Cape Town, founded by the incredible James Fernie, who continues to lead the way and make a difference in countless people’s lives through positive action and ‘love’. I have nothing but respect and admiration for him.

His latest innovative scheme has the Mount Nelson Hotel involved – to help generate funds for Uthando projects and generally assist the environment, they are placing these cards in their rooms and giving guests the option to donate money rather than have their sheets washed daily.

Such a simple yet effective idea. Good on the Mount Nelson and Uthando – I do hope to see many other accommodation establishments follow this wonderful lead.
