Last night I was one of the lucky guests to watch the sun set over the Hawequa Mountains from Val Du Charron’s new Tapas & Meze Room. This whilst sipping on a glass of their fabulous Red the Black Countess …

Val Du Charron Wine and Olvie Estate Guest House is located on a working farm in the Bovlei valley just ten minutes outside Wellington, with vineyards, olive groves, a winery and eight lovely guest rooms. The original farm was proclaimed in 1699, and now Stuart and Cathy Entwhistle hold title. They have lovingly restored this historic farm to its full integrity and have re-established the tradition of wine making here. And if all of these features and facilities aren’t enough, the latest addition is their incredible Tapas and Meze Tasting Room. The views across the valley are incredible!

Feels fabulous to have a venue like this to promote in Wellington, and people like Stuart and Cathy putting their energy into building something special to be enjoyed. Wishing them all luck and allof your support. More at
