On our chilly nights in we snuggled up to the fireplace with a glass of red in our hands.

May 2016. A Simonstown Break Away. A weekend exploring Simonstown from Thalassa Seaside Cottage at 1 Castle Rock, set just beyond the historic naval village in the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Such a beautiful part of our greater city, with shops, restaurants, boats, penguins, rocky shorelines and impressive views across False Bay.

May 2016. Botswana with FlyAirlink. Beyond my African dreams, I joined Airlink Airlines to experience the rich offerings of Botswana, flying their Cape Town to Maun service before taking a light aircraft transfer from there into the Moremi National Park. Spending a night at Camp Xakanaxa with game drives in the Moremi National Park we then air transferred to Camp Okavango for two nights, taking to the waters on their flat bottomed boats and by Mokoro in search of game.

April 2016. Destination Durban. I headed to Durban for a day of exploring with kulula.com and Avios, to take a closer look at this sultry and laid back East Coast City, making discoveries old and new. I’m always surprised by the new offerings, added activities, mix of cultures and endless Summers in Durban. Hot in climate, character and local curry, this east coast city lays itself bare with a relaxed and uncomplicated confidence.

April 2016. An Alternate look at Berlin. I’d heard much about Berlin, a place where history, culture, street art and an undeniable mix of grunge, architecture and style met and mixed as best friends. On my first visit in March 2016 I took numerous Free Walking Tours to learn more about the eras the city has seen, the art scene and significant museums. Then with my Green Pearl friends I rented a bike and toured the impressive and opulent Potsdam.

April 2016. Kimberley with FlyAirlink. I visited Kimberley taking two full days to explore the rich offerings of this area that saw prospectors descend on it to stake their claims with dreams of striking it rich, after diamonds were first discovered here in 1871.

March 2016. The Beauty of Northern Mozambique. Bringing you the beauty of Northern Mozambique’s Pemba and Medjumbe Island with Theresa Gibbon PR and FlyAirlink. Flying into Pemba we spent two nights at Pemba Beach Hotel & Spa with explores of the village and time next to the ocean before heading by light aircraft to Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort for two nights of unspoilt nature on a private strip of land that jets out of the blue waters. This is what it looks like, idyllic, beautiful, simple living at it’s very best. A very hard place to leave.

December 2015. Switzerland with SWISS. #InLoveWithSwitzerland. A look at Winter Wonderland with Swiss International Air Lines. As a group from South Africa we all fell in love with Switzerland as we discovered a Taste of Winter with visits to LucerneEngelberg-Titlus, the Montreux Riviera, Vevey, Saas-Fee and Bern. Staying at Hotel Waldstätterhof Luzern, Eurotel Montreux and The Capra Saas-Fee as we took in Christmas markets, ate traditional Swiss food, did city walking and scooter tours and had lessons in chocolate making and skiing. It was incredible! Here is a taste of what it looked like.

November 2015. Thailand Island Hopping. My return to Thailand with Green Pearls Unique Places saw me enjoy a few days at The Grande Centre Point Ratchadamri, Bangkok, before heading to the islands, which was a first for me. Hopping between Pimalai Resort on Koh Lanta in Krabi, Zeavola Resort on Phi Phi Island and Tongsai Bay on Koh Samui, I indulged in the warm waters, snorkelled till the fish grew tired of me, took catamaran, speed and long tail boat and lingered on white sandy beaches.

November 2015. Cape Town From Above. I had the great pleasure of falling in love with Cape Town all over again, this time from the air as I took the Three Bays flight with NAC Helicopters Cape Town.

October 2015. I was given the opportunity to travel to the Kruger National Park’s Northern Makuleke Concession, visiting the Pafuri Camp before doing the four day Pafuri Walking Trail with RETURNAfrica Pafuri Collection.Read the posts and have a watch of the walk.
