82 Steps to the Beach in Pringle Bay.

82 Steps To The Beach in Pringle Bay

I love discoveries near and far and have always loved being a tourist in my own backyard, which means that an invitation to stay in this gorgeous self-catering house in Pringle Bay was one I was grateful to receive.

Arranging for my stay to coincide with my daughter’s birthday, we arrived at 82 Steps last Friday evening and enjoyed two nights and glorious sunny days celebrating life, family – and of course its close proximity to the beach.

The house is designed and rented in three parts as can be seen on their website. The 2-bedroom en suite upstairs Ocean View Penthouse, the 2-bedroom en suite downstairs Sand Dune apartment, and the adorable downstairs Fynbos suite. Each has a well-equipped kitchen, living area, balconies with views to the ocean and/or mountains, TVs, WiFi and access to the pool area and outside braai. There’s a laundry and outdoor shower too, which is convenient when coming off the beach and needing to wash sandy toes.

I appreciated that the home is dog friendly and has a secure fence around the back garden, meaning I could take my dogs with me and the walks to the beach could include them too. My stay was in the upstairs penthouse and it was ideal for lingering on the balcony by day, and moving inside to braai and then snuggle up near the fireplace. It’s a very spacious option that speaks to open-plan living, making it very social. I would suggest this as your first option if you’re considering booking, and then adding the downstairs rooms as required if you have a bigger group.

As much as I get to Pringle Bay often, given that my parents moved there in September 2001 and it’s an extension of home, having a complete change of scenery and setting made for an incredibly special and relaxing stay, and I can completely recommend it. If you aren’t familiar with Pringle Bay, it has a gorgeous long beach that’s never crowded, a village centre with really good restaurants and an amazing deli, hiking trails, the FOMO Fine Art gallery and people that speak to the heart of the community.

When nature is on your doorstep – or in this case 82 steps away, it’s so easy to relax into it. We had the most unbelievable sunsets and could witness the light dancing off the waters and across to the mountains that enfold Pringle Bay. Quite truly – how lucky we are.

Do be in touch for more information, or contact 82 Steps on the website for additional details. Alternately, email Harriet Millson can assist as a point of contact too with warm thanks from me and my ‘immediates’ for the wonderful stay.
