Cape Winelands District Launches Tourism App In 13 Towns.

Ever driven to enhance our time in the country, the Cape Winelands District and Municipality (CWDM) in collaboration with their Local Tourism Associations (LTA’s) launched 13 Tourism Town Mobile Apps at Bosjes Restaurant between Worcester and Ceres on the R43 last week.

To get on board all you have to do is download the free app – search by town name – and you’re set to explore a thousand things to do and then some more, in the Cape Winelands.

Each app enables the user to gain access to information regarding local events, establishments, attractions and tourism activities for that specific area with a personal touch.  The thirteen tourism areas include; Stellenbosch 360, Franschhoek Wine Valley, Dwarsriver Tourism, Drakenstein LTA Paarl as well as Drakenstein LTA Wellington, Worcester Tourism, Breedekloof Wine & Tourism, Woseley Tourism, Tulbagh Wine & Tourism, Ceres Tourism, Robertson Tourism, McGregor Tourism and Montagu- Ashton Tourism. All you need to do is search for the name and you will find the app.

The app is available for both iOs and Android and includes ‘live’ newsfeeds and updates. The launch of the App comes at a perfect time as more tourists use their smart mobile devices to search tourism events, accommodation and activities.  The mobile apps feature key tabs on the main page that link users to valuable information about the town including latest news about what is happening; an advanced GPS system that provides detailed navigation on its map function that also contains sub-categories of things to do, places to eat, and where to stay, and a calendar of events, that the mobile users will be able to access at a much faster rate while they are on the go.

Tourists will be able to check-in, post photos and follow their favourite wineries and establishments. But best of all, the apps give access to the smallest businesses that may not have been discovered by visitors in the past, creating some smart enterprise development around tourism.

As part of the launch festivities CWDM in association with the thirteen (13) LTA’s are giving away a one week trip in the Cape Winelands. With a full itinerary set up, including the best of accommodation, food, wine and activities that the region has to offer. Get on board- get around- Get IT! And WIN! All you have to do is download the free app and you stand a chance to win this amazing price.  The competition will run from 01 April 2017- 30 April 2017 with the winner being announced on 03 May 2017.

Whether you’re boarding a plane, train, boat or automobile, or even a horse cart or tractor trip, you can now get around the awesome Cape Winelands with the help of a specialised Tourism Apps which allows you to have 13 towns, with all their hidden gems and wonderful businesses, at your fingertips.
