Eye on Lucky or Absinthe

On Wednesday 24 March 2010, I had the great pleasure of meeting a beautiful Great Dane called Lucky at the Heaven Scent Nursery. The farm and nursery and Lucky all live down dusty Valley Lane in the Houw Hoek Valley off the N2 highway.

We were there collecting specifically grown anise giant hyssop for The Field of Dreams Absinthe which Jorgensen’s Distillery is producing. The Absinthe promises to bring an altered and happy state of mind – my heart and interest however lay with rescue dog Lucky’s mesmerising blue eyes which I longingly looked into, photographed and gently kissed before I dragged myself away …
