Greenpop. Planting trees with the legendary Uncle Benji.

GreenpopZambia. – We spent an afternoon planting trees with Greenpop’s Director of Trees, Livingstone resident Benjamin Mibenge, more commonly known as Uncle Benji, on the farm that he will retire to one day.
Lessons in the how, where and why of developing a fruit forest from the legendary eco-warrior himself. There is nothing quite like the tangible act of digging a hole, preparing it and lovingly planting a tree that will hopefully grow tall and bear fruit for years to come. Truly soul soothing and searching stuff.

The man himself.

Planting my first tree in Zambia, 2014. Happiness!

Walking back to the car …

The group after an afternoon of planting that fuelled our interest and passion.

Transport in and out of the planting sight with a river crossing for good measure.
