Grootbos. – I love what you’ve done with the place!
Its no secret that Grootbos is very special to me. I refer to it as my true wonderland and am always grateful for any opportunity to spend time there. There are posts on here about these treasured experiences, as well as on their blog where I am a proud contributor.
This meant that when on my recent #FTT10YearBirthdayCampaign trip, the news that I would spend a night at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, brought pure joy.
Home for the night was Garden Lodge. I like that on my visits I am always offered new rooms to experience, and mostly I don’t know if it will be at Garden or Forest until I arrive. Both are beyond heavenly.
I was thrilled by the changes they’ve implemented in the past couple months. Always subtle, always the magical touches that you don’t know were needed, yet have such positive impact. In this case a beautiful new gift shop, sunny wooden-decked courtyard, and tea and coffee station for caffeine connoisseurs. Soft refurbs, hanging chairs on the deck, terracotta homes to succulent pot plants, lovingly placed on windowsills.
You’re always moving forward, improving, adding to your magic. I took some photos and include them below. Also of the children’s play area, happy chickens and a particularly cute pony I met on my walk.
Thank you for having me at part of your family.
New gift store at Garden Lodge with decked courtyard.
Coffee and Tea station of note!
Pool area looking gorgeous!
Some of the new additions to my room.
Play area for children, that swing is irresistible.
Happy chickens and the sweetest white pony. Ever.
And yes, as I drive through the gates and head to the lodge that will welcome me, it does feel like the best kind of coming home. And the wifi does connect automatically …
