Tomorrow I head to Morocco for a real live holiday with a friend from London.
We’ve booked Airbnb accommodation in Marrakech and Essaouira, and the last night at a small hotel in Casablanca, as well as a car that will see us through the self-drive adventure. As I pack and prepare for the time in this destination that has always intrigued me, I think of this quote and have no doubt I’ll carry the sentiment into the walled medinas, souks, and deserts as we explore.
‘Who you are, your True Nature, is no more tied to the kind of person you’ve been, than the wind is tied to the skies through which it moves. Your past is just that, the past, a place within your psyche with no more reality to it than a picture of a castle on a postcard made from stone. You have a destination far beyond where you find yourself standing today.’ Guy Finley
