Johannesburg. – Visiting the landmark Orlando Towers on a warm Saturday invites you to select from a variety of extreme sport, including the world’s first bungee jump between two cooling towers, which is on offer here.

Originally the site of a coal fired power station, the Orlando Towers are iconic to the Soweto skyline. Both stand at 33-storeys and are painted with colourful murals of South Africa and FNB corporate branding.

Its encouraging to see how a neglected area can be turned into a popular tourist attraction with bungee jumping, abseiling, zip line, pendulum swinging and more. There’s also paintballing and rock climbing as well as underground soccer if you’re interested. All accompanied by pumping music, a choices of places to eat and a cocktail bar.
