The Stilt Homes of Can Tho.

Vietnam. The residents along the Mekong River in Can Tho occupy home on stilts overlooking the daily activities and passage of a water that never seems to rest. They are beautiful, of wood, many painted in bright colours. Remnant to the rural life for which the area is richly known.

Laundry on the line, flower pots on the deck, bikes around the corner, hammocks and extra shade netting. This rustic take on Venice, of life on the river, is utterly charming and very social.
