Kenya. – While staying at the Olare Mara Kempinski in Kenya’s Masai Mara, I took a walk on the green plains.
Together with my guide David Lomali and Masai Tourist Police member Mwele, we were out there for a few hours. Stopping to watch a journey of giraffe go by, antelope grazing oblivious to our presence, checking underfoot as a snake was discovered. Following tracks dried in the mud after the early morning rains and stopping to learn more about trees.
The green plains resembled perfectly mowed lawns after playing home to the great herds of Wildebeest in the preceding months. The sky was blue with a few wispy clouds breaking the monotony, while a slight breeze cooled the air.
Not taking any chances, I as always opted to cover up under a scarf – much to David and Mwele’s amusement.
This truly is the best way to see an area and was a great privilege for me. The magic of Wild Kenya is unbeatable and time there was certainly a dream come true for me. My walk in pictures below.
