As we wind down a big and busy year, one that brought much change in my life, most specifically on the personal front, I reflect with gratitude on all who have supported me, loved me and nurtured me through the rather challenging transition period. Among much else, I relaunched my blog under a different theme during this time and am constantly working to make it more readable, interesting and informative. Which means that when I read these work thoughts by Seth Godin, they truly resonated with me and I share them below.
Important, popular, viral work.
Important work is easily dismissed by the audience. It involves change and risk and thought.
Popular work resonates with the people who already like what you do.
Viral work is what happens when the audience can’t stop talking about what you did.
Every once in awhile, all three things will co-exist, but odds are, you’re going to need to choose.
Here’s to the year ahead and a 2018 that inspires and delights, one where I manage to achieve some of the above in both my writing, travels and home life. Thank you to all who constantly stand with me – you are much loved and deeply appreciated

Excellent write up, I need to truly enhance the content I have.
I have attempted to blog on third part platforms, it just did
not transpire the way I needed it to. But your website has
providing me a desire to do this. I will be bookmarking
your website
and checking it out from time to time. Thank you!
Thank you so much for reading and for your kind words. They mean the world to me. I also sometimes write in the third person, sometimes first, trying to keep the same throughout. I think like most things, it’s just practice and what feels right for the piece. Appreciate the interest. Dawn
