#Chefs4Soil event to be held at Chefs Warehouse Beau Constantia.

Chefs4Soil

If you missed it last year, just a note to say that the second annual #Chefs4Soil is to be held at the award-winning Chefs Warehouse Beau Constantia on 20 June, when top chef Ivor Jones and his talented team will dish up a delicious dinner in support of Soil for Life. Since it opened in late 2016, Chefs Warehouse Beau Constantia has become one of the country’s top eateries. It is ‘the best restaurant in Cape Town’ according to The Inside Guide’s chefs’ survey and took 4th place in the 2017 Mercedes-Benz Eat Out Awards.

Soil for Life Dinner

On the #Chefs4Soil menu are seven contemporary tapas dishes to share, each lovingly created with seasonal ingredients including freshly-picked herbs and vegetables from Soil for Life’s organic garden. Dessert will be Chef Ivor’s signature wild honey and lavender crème, and each course will be accompanied by delectable Beau Constantia wines. Tickets are R1 200 per couple and the proceeds will be used to grow home food gardens in low-income areas.

Chef Ivor has been a passionate supporter of Soil for Life since they helped him set up an organic kitchen garden at Beau Constantia. When he learned about the non-profit’s community-based Home Food Gardening programme, he organised the first #Chefs4Soil to generate much-needed funds. The evening raised R30, 411 which provided training, tools and seeds to help 10 unemployed people create productive home food gardens. This year he hopes to raise even more. “It’s going to be a fun, relaxed evening in aid of a really good cause with great food and wine,” he says.

Each course will be paired with Beau Constantia’s fine wine, kindly donated by farm owner Pierre du Preez. “The wines perfectly complement our food, the quality is phenomenal” says Chef Ivor.  Seats are limited. To book #Chefs4Soil call Beau Constantia Chefs Warehouse on 021 794 8632 (extension 1) or email cw@beauconstantia.com. The cost of R1, 200 per couple includes seven tapas dishes, dessert and Beau Constantia wines. It excludes tips, drinks and coffee. Please specify dietary requirements when booking.
